A free eye screening camp, the 277th in the series, was successfully conducted at Vivekanandapuram campus in Kanyakumari, on Wednesday, 2nd July 2025, from 9 AM to 1 PM. The camp was organised by Tamilnadu Prant, Rural Development Programme (VK-RDP), Kanyakumari branch in collaboration with Aravind Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli, and funded by the Kanyakumari District Blindness Control Society (DBCS).
The camp witnessed the participation of a large number of beneficiaries from surrounding villages. A total of 176 outpatients were examined, and 57 inpatients were identified for further treatment, including surgical intervention if required.
The medical team from Aravind Eye Hospital was led by Dr. Aarya and Dr. Lakshmi, who carried out the screening and consultation processes with precision and care. The camp focused on early diagnosis of eye conditions, including cataract and refractive errors, and provided follow-up support to those in need of advanced care.
