Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Programme, Ramanathapuram branch organized a 2007 Thiruvilakku Puja (Deepa Puja) at Arulmigu Sri Parvathavardini Amman Sametha Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram.

This mass deepa puja, which was held on 1st October, 2023, saw the participation of 2,530 women hailing from around 110 villages. The aim of the Puja is to invoke blessings for the prosperity of the nation and the well-being of humanity.

INS Parundu Captain Sri. Vikrant Sabnis, Navy Commander Sri. Dinesh Kumar and Smt. Thenmozhi Balakrishnan were the special guests for the programme and they inaugurated the program by lighting the main lamp called ‘Thaai Vilakku’.

The Secretary of VK-RDP, Sri. Ayyappan Ji; the Joint Secretary of VK-RDP, Sri. Paramaguru Ji; VK-RDP District Incharges, Smt. Leela Karuppasamy and Smt. Latha Shanmugabharathy, along with Kendra karyakarthas, participated in the program.

Chinnapalam Balwadi children and Sanskar Varga students presented cultural programs. Following that, Kendra Sisters took the opportunity to interact with attendees on the topic ‘Wake up Hindus’. The Special Guests and the Secretary of VK-RDP also addressed the audience.

Then, Kendra sisters Smt. Bakyalakshmi and Smt. Radha lead and conducted the Puja, and all the participants offered their prayers for the prosperity of our nation, the preservation of our rich culture, and the well-being of the entire world.
