Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Chennai Valmiki Nagar branch observed the 11th International Day of Yoga at The Madras Regional Station of the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) on 23rd June 2025 with a yoga session organized for its staff and associates.
The session was conducted at 10:00 a.m. and led by Smt. Thangalakshmi Balasubramanian, Tamil Nadu Prant Pramukh, VRM&VK. A total of 15 participants took part in the session.
The program began with a formal welcome address by the management. Followed by practice of the Common Yoga Protocol as prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH, including basic loosening exercises, asanas, pranayama, and relaxation. The session was conducted in a calm and focused atmosphere, encouraging active participation and awareness.
Following the yoga practice, Smt. Thangalakshmi addressed the gathering and spoke about this year’s IDY theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” She emphasized the need for harmony between individual well-being and planetary health, highlighting how yoga plays a crucial role in promoting internal balance and external sustainability.
The participants expressed their appreciation for the session and showed interest in continuing yoga as part of their daily routine.
This event was part of the national movement to celebrate International Day of Yoga 2025, reinforcing yoga’s value as a tool for health, harmony, and holistic living.
