Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Vallioor (VKV-Vallioor), celebrated Gurupurnima with great devotion and grandeur to honour Bhagavan Veda Vyasa, the compiler of the Vedas. The celebration was held on Ashadha Purnima (10th July 2025) and was presided over by Shri S.K. Subramanian ji, Correspondent of VKV Vallioor.

The Chief Guests were Srimaan Krishnan Ji (Veda Vidwan from Tirukkurungudi) and Srimaan Mathavan Ji from Tirukkurungudi, and the Special Guest was Mr. S. Sudhir Kandhan Ji, Former President of Rotary Club, Vallioor Central. The event was organized under the guidance of the Principal, Smt. S. Esakkiammal.

The programme began with a spiritual ambience as students rendered a song dedicated to the Guru. Student Kanaga Akilesh of Class XII delivered a speech on Gurupurnima in Tamil, followed by Sharonviji who spoke in English. A message from Mananeeya Nivedita Didi on the significance of Gurupurnima was translated and read by teacher Smt. V. Thilaga.

Srimaan Krishnan ji and Srimaan Mathavan ji delivered inspiring talks on the Guru-shishya tradition and led the chanting of Vedic slogans, which the students followed with devotion. The programme also featured a Pada Pooja ceremony, where students offered their respects to their teachers. Teacher Smt. Radha led the chanting of slogans and Guru songs during the puja.

Students were encouraged to seek blessings from their teachers on this sacred occasion. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Class XII student Kum. Muthusiva Sankari, followed by the Kendra Prarthana.

A total 938 people including 871 students, 47 teachers, and 20 parents participated in the celebration, making it a spiritually enriching and memorable event in the school campus.
