Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Programme, Thoothukudi branch extended its Deepawali celebrations by providing new clothes, sweets, and snacks to the elderly people. Sponsored by Karapettai Nadar Higher Secondary School's Tamil Teacher Shri. Ganesan ji and his wife Smt. Rama Ganesan for the past four years, the distribution took place at VK-RDP Karayalaya on October 28, 2023, at 6 p.m.
Shri. Ganesan ji, along with his son Shri. Venkataraman ji, his fiancée Kum. Sruthi, and her parents Shri. Sankaranarayanan ji and Smt. Vijayalakshmi, graced the occasion. Dakshin Prant Sangathak Kumari Radha Devi Didi, Tamil Nadu Vibhag Pravasi Karyakartha Kumari Sumitra Didi from Madurai, and the Secretary of VK-RDP Shri. Ayyappan Ji also participated. With Shri. Venkatraman Ji and Kum. Sruthi's wedding scheduled for December 8, the couple joyfully distributed items to the elderly people, benefiting 60 people.
The elderly people extended their heartfelt blessings and wishes to the future couple. The parents and the couple purposefully shared these items, hoping the young couple would develop the spirit of giving. They wished for the elders' blessings to be with the future couple, evoking emotions in everyone present. This event beautifully exemplified the higher truth that those who give derive greater benefits than those who receive.
