Independence Day was celebrated in a grand level on  15th August in our school campus.  Shri.  Sankararaman, Advocate & Secretary of Madha Amirthanantha Mayi Samithi hoisted the National flag.  Shri. Ayyappanji, Secretary of RDP, Vivekananda Kendra, Smt.

One day Mananeeya Eknathji Janmasatapdi Parva Karyakrta prashikshan karyashala was organised in Panipat, Haryana on 27 July 2014.Dr. Rajbir Dabur, parva prashikshan pramukh of Haryana spoke on Mananeeya Eknathji.

On 10th August, on the auspicious day of Rakshabhandhan - Sravani Purnima, there was a book release in Bangla on Mananeeya Eknathji - "Ekanath ji Ek Ananya Mahapurush". It is translation of the book on Ma.

Swami Vivekananda always stressed the need of the harmonious development of heart and head in Education. We have many activities for the cognitive development but very few for the heart. We need to aim that our children and co –workers feel secured and loved and for that we should be affectionate towards them. The growth of the heart is possible only when one is aware of the needs of the people around.

As always it is a pleasure to look back on the year and offer our grateful thanks to all our trustees, members of the managing committee of Vivekananda Kendra and well wishers who are part of Vivekananda Kendra family at Kodungallur. May the most elevating vedic vision of our seers ever guide us in all that we do so that, our great Motherland regains her ancient glory and be seated as the Jagat Guru blessing the entire humanity.

A Training Program for training presenters for “Born to Succeed” Presentation was held on 9th August at Kaushalam, Hyderabad.

IT enrichment workshop held at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Port Blair near Veer Savarkar International Airport, specially for VKV Port Blair, Vivekananda Kendra Zila Parishad Vidyalaya and Vivekananda Kendra Nagar Palika Vidyalaya. Workshop covers the over all lab maintenance including hardware troubleshoot, software installation, operating system installation. Participant also learn to upload text and image on blog type website.

A Vivekananda Kendra (Introduction) Camp was held on 2nd August at 5pm to 8pm at Vivekananda Kendra Madhusudan Nagar, Kolkata, West Bengal. 29 participarts took part in the Camp.

This month we have exciting report on Dharmar Teertham. After identifying the Teertham area which was a plain sand dune and after the initial ceremonies, we started digging. And we discovered a huge beautiful traditional water body emerging as the sand dune got cleared. The centuries old structure made with lime mixture has a wonderful finishing touch and is mostly intact even after centuries of being buried under the sand dune. In the Green Rameshwaram project we have a host of works done by our team of workers at Rameshwaram.
