Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Natural Resources Development Project (VK-NARDEP), Varma Research and Resource Centre organised a Free Siddha Medical Camp at Kanyakumari. The camp was conducted for three days from 27th to 29th May 2025, 10 AM to 3 PM, offering free consultations, Siddha medical advice, and herbal medicines to the general public.
This comprehensive camp aimed to promote holistic health and traditional healing practices, addressing a wide range of ailments. It provided free treatment for:
- General health issues in men, women, and children
- Joint pain, neck pain, and back pain
- Respiratory problems such as colds, coughs, and phlegm
- Chronic illnesses including skin diseases, diabetes, and hypertension
A discounted blood sugar test was also offered exclusively on 27th May, to support diabetes screening and management.
An added highlight of the camp was the rare exhibition of the herbs, where visitors could learn about various indigenous herbs used in Siddha healing.
A total of 278 people availed the benefits of this camp, receiving personalized care and natural remedies rooted in ancient Indian wisdom. The initiative was well-received and appreciated by the community, reaffirming the relevance and effectiveness of traditional systems like Siddha in addressing modern health challenges.
