On Monday, 09 July 2025, a three-week internship program (120 hours) was jointly organized by Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari – Rangpur Vibhag, Golaghat Nagar and Padma Shri Dr. Robin Banerjee Natural History Museum, for 5th-semester undergraduate students of Debraj Roy College. A total of 23 students (15 girls and 8 boys) participated in the program held from 2nd to 20th July 2025.
As per the curriculum of Debraj Roy College, the internship covered six major topics:
- Environmental Studies
- Communication
- Education
- Legal Awareness
- Banking
- Yoga Practice
Various activities such as intellectual sessions, group discussions, creativity exercises, Vedic chanting, games, storytelling, Kendra Varga, and Sanskar Varga practices were included for the holistic development of the students.

- Life and Contributions of Srimanta Sankardev
- Swami Vivekananda’s Message to Youth
- Ashtanga Yoga
- Indian and Assamese Language & Culture
- Vivekananda Kendra as a Spiritually-Oriented Service Mission
- Eknathji Ranade and the Rock Memorial
- Lachit Borphukan and Patriotism
- Assamese Pride and Luminaries
- Indian Constitution and Citizen Duties
- Child and Women Safety, POCSO Act
- Medicinal Plants and Their Uses
- Nature Conservation, Climate Change, and Biodiversity Loss
- Introduction to the Natural History Museum and Dr. Robin Banerjee
Speakers and reviewers for the sessions included: Manashi Goswami, Ratul Kalita, Lakshidhar Saikia, Geeta Medok, Anjali Buragohain, Lakshinayan Goswami, Bani Hazarika, Dr. Bontirani Phukan, Dr. Bijuli Barchotiya, Mousumi Hazarika, Anu Tamuli, Dr. Apurba Saikia, Dr. Parismita Hazarika, and Sushmoy Purkayastha.
On the physical development side, training was provided by Rupalim Gogoi, Bachaum Ma’am, Hrishikesh, Kaustav, and Mousumi.
The camp was inaugurated on 02 July 2025 by Dr. Shobha Rani Barkataki Sharma. Dr. Mridul Chetia from Debraj Roy College served as the nodal officer. The intellectual sessions were jointly coordinated by Anjali Buragohain and Mousumi Hazarika.
Local workers from Golaghat Nagar – Baby Changmai, Saakshi Vinayak, Bharati Baruah – along with Bani Hazarika in coordination, actively contributed to the program’s success.
As part of the program, the students were also taken for an educational tour of the museum and shown rare photographs of Dr. Banerjee, including documentation on Kaziranga.
During the valedictory function on 20 July 2025, senior karyakarta Juri Devi, Golaghat Nagar Sanchalak Dr. Dilip Goswami, and Division Head Geeta Medok distributed certificates to the participants.
A total of 18 karyakartas from Guwahati (1), Jorhat (2), and Golaghat (15) contributed to the execution and successful completion of this 120-hour internship program.
