Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is revered as the Guru, and Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers and projects of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.
On 12th July 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal branch, celebrated Gurupurnima at Vivekananda School of Yoga, Coffee Board Layout, Hebbal Kempapura, Bengaluru. A total of 109 people participated in the programme, including Karyakartas, children and adults.
Smt. Rajashree Prasad Akka addressed the gathering and shared the spiritual significance and the reason behind the observance of Gurupurnima. Shri Bijoy Ji followed with an insightful explanation of the scientific principles behind Omkara.
The programme continued with soulful bhajans sung by both children and adults, adding devotional fervour to the celebration. Shri Patel Ji gave a brief Kendra Parichaya, introducing the vision and mission of Vivekananda Kendra to the audience.
The event concluded with a calming meditation session conducted by Shri Prasad Ji, followed by the Kendra Prarthana and the distribution of Alpahaar, marking a peaceful and fulfilling conclusion to the Utsav.
