Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is revered as the Guru, and Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers and projects of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.
On the occasion of Guru Purnima, a special program was organized by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Maharashtra Prant, Devagiri Vibhag, Verul Branch (Sambhajinagar West) on Ashadha Purnima (10th July 2025). The program commenced with the three Omkars and prayer, followed by a Guru Stavan to express gratitude to the Gurus. A devotional song was also presented, adding to the spiritual atmosphere.
Gurupurnima letter from Mananeeya Nivedita Didi was read aloud to the gathering. This was followed by a keynote address by the chief guest, Ms. Janhavi Tai Kelkar, who delivered an insightful talk on the spiritual and scientific significance of ‘Omkar’ and the transformative experience of its chanting.
A total of 31 participants attended the program, including special guests Shri Sanjay Ji Jadhav (Devgiri Vibhag Sampark Pramukh) and Shri Pramod Ji Kulkarni (Nagar Sanchalak, Sambhajinagar East). As a part of the observance, all attendees chanted ‘Om’ 11 times in unison and did pushparpan to Omkar. The program concluded with Shanti mantra and the Kendra Prarthana.
