Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is revered as the Guru, and Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers and projects of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.
On Ashada Purnima (10th July 2025), Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal branch, observed Gurupurnima with devotion and enthusiasm at Government School, Hebbal Kempapura, Bengaluru. A total of 250 participants, including 3 Karyakartas, were present. The programme was conducted with the students of the Dhruva Samskara Varga.
The significance of Gurupurnima was explained to the children, highlighting the role of the Guru in imparting wisdom and values. Slokas were chanted collectively and taught to the students, fostering a devotional and reflective atmosphere. The celebration served to instill cultural values and reverence for teachers in young minds.
