In a vibrant and spiritually uplifting gathering, the Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Programme (Tamil Nadu Prant), Tirunelveli Branch organised a Grand Thiruvilakku Puja at Arulmigu Agastheeswarar Temple, Ambasamudram on 22nd June 2025. The event saw enthusiastic participation of over 925 women devotees from more than 30 villages across four districts of South Tamil Nadu.
The auspicious puja commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Smt. Gowri Rajasekar, Sah Sanchalak of VK Thoothukudi. The gathering was warmly welcomed by Adarneeya Shri Ayyappan Anna, Tamil Nadu Prant Sah Sangatak and Secretary of VK RDP, who reiterated the relevance of such collective spiritual practices in nation-building.
A key highlight of the event was the aasirvachan (blessing message) delivered by Mananeeya Shri Hanumantharao ji, All-India Vice President of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra. His inspiring words touched upon the cultural awakening and the power of collective prayers in invoking spiritual strength for societal transformation.
Adding cultural depth to the programme was a conversational drama titled “Wakeup Hindus” performed by Kendra’s Balasevikas. The skit, rich in values and messages, highlighted the need for awareness, unity, and revival of dharmic living among Hindus.
The Thiruvilakku Puja was conducted meticulously by Kendra sisters from Ambasamudram, who guided the assembled women through the devotional rituals. The synchronised lighting of lamps and collective chanting created a divine atmosphere, as participants prayed earnestly for the welfare of the nation.
This event exemplified Vivekananda Kendra’s continuous efforts to blend spiritual practice with societal upliftment. Through such initiatives, the Kendra not only fosters cultural rootedness among women but also nurtures collective strength for national resurgence.
The Grand Thiruvilakku Puja concluded on a deeply devotional note, leaving participants inspired and spiritually rejuvenated.
