Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Assam Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Swasthya Seva Sadan (VKSSS), Laipuli, Tinsukia, organized a Vimarsh on the topic ‘Bhagini Nivedita and Seva’ to celebrate the birth anniversary of Bhagini Nivedita.

The Vimarsh was held on the 31st of October 2023 at Golapchandra Rabichandra Nayta Mandir in Tinsukia. Pujyasri Swami Vedasarananda Ji, the Secretary of RK Mission Hospital in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, was the keynote speaker. The event was graced by another senior monk, Pujyasri Swami Arunatmananda Ji, the Secretary of RK Mission in Digboi, and attended by nearly 200 attendees, including prominent women and voluntary organizations of Tinsukia.

The program commenced with a mangalacharan and the felicitation of the guests. Sri Shashi Bhushan Goel, the Chairman of VK Swasthya Seva Sadan, delivered the welcome address and presented a brief report on VKSSS's mission and vision. Following this, students from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Tinsukia, enthralled the audience with a devotional performance depicting the birth of Sri Krishna through a Satriya Nritya. This was followed by a brief yet informative speech by Sri Rabindra Saudekar, the Principal of VKV, Dibrugarh. The members of Barnali Sishu Kalyan Sangathan, Tinsukia, recited a poem composed by Swami Vivekananda.

The highlight of the program was the keynote address delivered by Pujyasri Swami Vedasarananda Ji. He enlightened the audience on how Margaret Elizabeth Noble, a highly intelligent and educated lady from Ireland, became Nivedita (the Dedicated One) of Bharat. He stressed how Swami Vivekananda molded Sister Nivedita to serve her students and the people of Bharat as a mistress, servant, and friend. Swami Vedasarananda Ji also emphasized the true meaning of ‘Seva,’ which is ‘Seva as Sadhana.’ He stated that seva should not be for name, fame, honor, or any other incentives; rather, it should lead to our own spiritual upliftment and enlightenment.

The entire program was ably anchored by Su. Tapashi Pal, a teacher at VKV, Tinsukia. The Vote of Thanks was offered by Neeldeep Chakraborty, a senior teacher at VKV, Tinsukia, and the program concluded with Shantipath.
