20130901_164208Teaching of Srikrishna Paramatma is a very precious gem in Indian psyche. He is called Poornavatara. His life teaches us practical Vedanta. In His presence everybody felt the oneness of the universe.Even as a child, He could organize the whole Gokula. Everybody without any feeling of difference as rich & poor, man & woman, young & old came together and fought the evil. He enthused tremendous courage and a sense of duty in all.Swami Vivekananda also felt the importance of organized efforts. He wanted all of us to work for national regeneration. To his disciples of Madras, he wrote, “It is not the work of a day, and the path is full of the most deadly thorns. But Parthasarthi is ready to be our Sarathi . . . Go to the temple of Parthasarthi, and before Him, who was friend to the poor and lowly cowherds of Gokula, make a great sacrifice for them, for whom He comes from time to time. . .” Vivekananda Kendra organizes 10 samskar vargas for the school going children at Nagpur. Through value based stories, games, patriotic songs, Suryanamaskars, various creative sessions and celebrations of different festivals good values are developed in them.On 1st Sep 2013, Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated at the premises of Shri Sankatmochan Hanuman Mandir located at Atre Lay out, Pratap nagar. Nearly for a month the preparations were going on. The children, varga shikshaks and all the karyakarthas from all the vistars were full of thoughts of Dahihandi and the childhood stories of Srikrishna. The programme started at 3.30 p m with the cultural programme presented by the children. It exhibited the talents of the children through dramas, dances, patriotic songs and recitation of stotras. The importance of the Janmashtami festival was explained to the audience. The parents and karyakarthas also participated in the slogans as ‘Hathi Ghoda Palki – Jay kanhaiyalal ki’ . . . The whole atmosphere was surcharged by the vibrations of devotion towards Shrikrishna! The main attraction was Dahihandi. A decorated pot filled with curd was tied with a long rope. Both the sides of the rope were tied at a height and children had to try hard to break the pot! They we divided in different groups. One team each of boys and girls was successful in breaking Dahihandi. The children from the nearby area were assembled to see the programme. They were given the chance & they also broke the Dahihandi! Their teamwork was appreciated by all. The programme concluded with shanti mantra and distribution of Gopalkala – the Prasadam.
