Maha Bhaskara Shastra Vijanan Pradarshini:  Many months’ ceaseless preparations by the organizers made the programme a grand success. The team work done by our teachers, students and organizers of all the schools in North-East is commendable.

The Mega event got into action with the arrival of the participants from across the North Eastern VKVs on 16th December at VKV- Itanagar. On the same day there was a massive procession involving about two thousand students in Itanagar which captivated the attention of the residents of the Capital region.

The inaugural function was conducted on 17th December wherein a galaxy of eminent personalities decorated the dais. The seasoned political leader and the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Sri.Nabam Tuki, Dr.Anil Sahasrabudhe, eminent technocrat, educationist and the Director of College of Engineering, Pune, Mananeeya B. Nivedita Didi, All India Vice President of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra, Sri.Tapuk Tappi, Hon’ble MLA from Seppa constituency, Dr.Joram Begi, Director Technical & Higher Education, Prant Pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra & Dr. Tejum Paduji , Joint Director, Technical and Higher Education & Trustee VKVAPT  were other prominent persons along with good number of well-wishers &Parents present for the programme.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri.Nabum Tuki lauded the efforts of VKVs in Arunachal Pradesh in bringing up value based education and moulding the children in the right path. He was in praise of the contribution of Vivekananda Kendra for Arunachal Pradesh and quality education system of the VKVs. Sri.Tuki advised the young scientists to make most out of this intellectual atmosphere and also to foster long lasting friendship to bring the neighbor states closer. He assured the support of his government in all possible ways and means to Kendra for its activities. He said, “My doors are open for Kendra family”.  In his speech to the budding scientists, Dr.Anil Sahasrabuddhe appealed them to merge science with spirituality.

Ma.Nivedita Didi asked the students to uphold the ancient wisdom of the country which will be the guiding spirit for future scientific programs.

There were many stalls set up by various agencies like Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency, Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre, State Forest Research Institute, G.B.Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development, Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic and exhibits from various schools.

Man. Nivedita Didi, Dr.A.N.Rao, Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Er. Sri.Kalyan Dutta and Dr.D.Mahanta enlightened the participants on various topics. 61 models of 122 participants were judged by eminent jury members like Dr.R.N.Pal, Former Scientist, ICAR, Er.Tage Taki Executive Engineer, PWD, Capital Complex, Dr.G.Murtem, Scientist-D, SFRI, Itanagar, Prof.S.K.Duloi, Dept.of Chemical Science, University of Tezpur, Er.Opung Ering, Scientist-D, NIC, Itanagar, Su.Liza Lomdak, Asst.Professor, RG University, Doimukh etc.

All of them opined unanimously about the scientific aptitude among the children and the need to nurture it and were at loss of words by seeing some of the models and the simple theories applied on it. All the exhibits were based on the themes of Eco-friendly indigenous methods.

The concluding function was conducted on 19th December where in Dr.Ligu Tacho, Chairman, APPSC. Shri. T.Ronya, Director, Department of Science and technology, Mananeeya Pravinji, Secretary VKVs North East were present.

The capital looked to the Maha Bhaskara Sashtra Vijnan Pradharshini with great enthusiasm. The support which we received from various government agencies, parents and well – wishers and residents of Itanagar is worth mentioning. The media gave great magnitude to the event. Inter School Bhagavad Gita chanting Competition & Prjnya Vikas Quiz: - The final of Gita chanting competition 2011 and Prjnya Vikas Quiz was conducted on Gita Jayanti day ie 6th December 2011 at VKV- Jairampur. There were 18 competitors for the Gita Chanting and 24 competitors from different VKVs for Final Quiz Competition.

The competitors mesmerized one and all by their memory power and clarity in pronunciation in Gita Chanting. It is worth mentioning that VKV- Jairampur could mobilize good support from Parents, well-wishers and different government agencies for the success of these programmes.  Shri. Arun singh Shekawat, Administative Officer and Shri. Krishna Kumar, Cluster in charge attended the programmes.

Gita Jayanti and Pariwar Sammelan:Gita Jayanti celebrations, which is meant for a collectively thinking on the Bhagavad Gita, the great Science and Art of Man making, is celebrated in all the schools with utmost importance. Various competitions, lecture sessions on Bhagavad Gita, Swadhyaya etc. were some of the activities reported so far.

VKV- Banderdewa conducted Pariwar Sammelan wherein 150 parents attended the programme.

Gita Jayanti Celebration At VKVAPT:  Along with all our schools, the Administrative Office also celebrated Gita Jayanti on 6th December in a befitting manner.   Sri Sri Yadupati Shyamdasa Prabhu of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) graced the occasion and blessed all. He elaborated on the significance of teachings of The Bhagavad Gita in our day-to-day lives, and stressed the aspect of we all being the instruments in the hands of God. He appreciated the work of Vivekananda Kendra and asserted that Kendra's work, is God’s work it is a Punya-karya. Each karyakarta was entrusted with a task of selecting a shloka from The Bhagwad Gita and to share his/her experience of its significance in one's own day-to-day life. All experiences were insightful and even Maharaj ji listened with rapt attention, and also clarified various queries of karyakartas. There were 25 Karyakartas present for the programme.

Parents’ Meet:-  Meetings with Parents of class VIII, IX & X at Vivek Vihar, Sher & Banderdewa were conducted. The meeting was quite successful and interactive. It is worth mentioning about the response of parents in the parents meetings these days.  They express their gratitude to Kendra for taking up educational activities in Arunachal at the same time they also share their expectation from VKVs. It is a great responsibility on all of us to fulfill the expectation of them.  With the total commitment and dedication, let’s strengthen ourselves to fulfill the dream and expectation.

Samarth Bharath Parva: - The celebration is in full swing from 25th December in all the schools and would culminate on 12th January. Mass singing of Vande Mataram, talks on the various achievements of the country to highlight her rich cultural heritage and strength and also to reject the habit of deride our strength which we had acquired during the colonial rule, are some of the activities undertaken. It is known to all that one should be able to look at the stars instead of scars.

Sargam Shibir:- The Sargam Shibir to train the students in Vedic chanting, Prayer and Singing was conducted for the schools of Papum Pare Cluster on 10th December at VKV- Balijan. 46 selected students attended the 5days long camp with gusto and devotion to learn chanting the prayer and new patriotic songs.
