Vivekananda Kendra Pradanam (West Bengal Prant) celebrated its Foundation Day on April 30, 2025, at the Satyajit Ray Auditorium, ICCR, Kolkata, as per tithi i.e. the auspicious tithi of Akshay Tritiya. The central theme of the celebration was Skill Development, one of the core dimensions (Aayam) of VK Pradanam’s mission.
The program began with the resonant chanting of three Omkars and Shanti Path led by Susri Kathakali Bhattacharya, invoking peace and harmony.
Retired Air Chief Marshal Shri Arup Raha ji, esteemed Chairman of VK Pradanam, delivered the welcome address. He emphasized the significance of the Foundation Day and the organization’s role in nation-building.
Prof. Shri Probal Sen, a member of the VK Pradanam team, addressed the audience on the topic of Entrepreneurship and its vital role in empowering youth and fostering a resilient society. His insights encouraged innovation and self-reliance among the younger generation.
This was followed by an address by Shri Chandan Roy, another key member of the VK Pradanam team, who spoke on Youth Mining and its importance in today's societal context. He highlighted the need to identify, nurture, and channel the potential within the youth.
The keynote address was delivered by Mananeeya Kum. Nivedita Bhide, All-India Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari and Padma Shri awardee. She eloquently shared the impactful journey of Vivekananda Kendra in social transformation and elaborated on the various community welfare initiatives undertaken by the Kendra.
A soulful cultural performance by Moumita Sarkar Didi added a melodious touch to the event, enriching its spirit. The formal program concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all speakers, participants, and organizers. The event ended with the Shanti Mantra.
The proceedings were smoothly conducted by Dr. Rakesh Das Ji, Pramukh of Bangla Prakashan Vibhag, who ensured an engaging and seamless flow of events. A total of 89 participants attended the program, reflecting a strong interest in the vision and initiatives of VK Pradanam.
