On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Siang Vibhag organized celebrations on the 15th and 20th of July 2025 across seven locations in Arunachal Pradesh, including Aalo Nagar, Pasighat Nagar, Kato Village, Riew Village, Basar Nagar, Kaying Village, and Yingkiong District. A total of 650 people took part in the celebrations.

The programmes commenced with three Omkaras, chanting of Guru Mantra, and soulful Guru Bhajans rendered by the students, setting a devotional tone for the event.

The events were graced by eminent personalities including Shri Takong Mingli, Dr. Tejum Padu Ji, Mohonto Panging Ji, Sri Mogi Ori Ji, Sri Karmur Jerang, and Sri Boum Padung as chief guests. Other dignitaries present included Dr. Kukde Rajendra Chhagan Ji (Principal, VKV), Sri Dana Moyong Ji, Sri Rupir Boli Ji, Sri Komin Borang Ji (BEO), Sri Tojum Zirdo Ji, Sri Mago Doke Ji, and Sri Doi Kamduk Ji.

The gatherings saw enthusiastic participation from the public, well-wishers, students, and those associated with the Kendra from Yingkiong, Kaying, Riew, Mebo Gangging, Kato, Aalo, and Basar Gamgi.

Students and Karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra presented Vivekvani in Adi, English, and Hindi, highlighting the message and inspiration of Swami Vivekananda.

In their addresses, Kendra elders emphasized that the Guru-Shishya Parampara is the very identity of Bharatiya culture, with Rishi Veda Vyasa’s contribution standing as a shining example. They stressed the importance of reviving and practicing this tradition in modern times.

Shri Dana Moyong Ji shared insights about the activities of Vivekananda Kendra, while Shri Rupir Boli Ji encouraged everyone to continue the work of the Kendra with dedication. Shri Komin Borang Ji reflected on how the modern and western lifestyle has distanced us from our cultural roots and emphasized the need to reconnect with and practice our traditions.

The programmes were concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks followed by the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.
