Report by OD bureau, Bhubaneswar: 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda will be celebrated throughout the country from 12th January 2013 to 12th January 2014. The grand celebration titled as ‘Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroha’ will be the great opportunity to spread the inspiring message of Swamiji to the whole world. The theme of the celebration will be ‘Wake up Bharat ! Enlighten the World’!

In view of the celebration on the national and international level, it is a great pleasure for all of us that the formation of all India celebration committee has already been formed on 16th of this month which is followed by the formation of State level committees in all the States of the Country. Important social leaders, thinkers, spiritual leaders and admirers of the thoughts of ‘Swami Vivekananda’ along with the experienced volunteers of many social organizations will participate in this celebration.

Mata Amritanandamayi Devi has kindly consented to be the President of the Rashtriya Samiti and former Secretary General of 7th, 8th & 9th Loksabha Dr. Subhash Kashyap has kindly agreed to associate as Honorary Chairman of this Samiti. Prof. Aniruddha Deshpande will work as the Secretary of this Samiti. Like wise the famous columnist, defence expert, social leader Colonel Sarat Kumar Mahapatra (Retd.) will act as State President of Odisha and Educationist Dr. Dhirendra Nanda will act as the State Secretary of this Swami Vivekananda 150th Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee. More over,  Administrators, Educationists, Social workers, Artists, Doctors and many other reputed personalities of our state have given their consent to act as members of the State Celebration Committee.

This kind of celebrations would provide enough inspiration to many to wake up and come up to the tune of expectations of this great nation. Accordingly, ‘Panchamukhi’ consisting of five pronged programmes are proposed with thrust of social harmony which will be under taken on a
wider scale at a number of places all over the country as follows : 1) Yuva Shakti - For participation and channelization of massive youth power; 2) Samvardhini - For enhancement and participation of women in all walks of life; 3) Gramayan - To respect the contribution of villages and support them in integral development; 4) Asmita - To respect, preserve, protect and practice the indigenous faith & culture of Janajati’s of Bharat; 5) Prabuddha Bharat - To secure & consolidate the participation of the elites and intellectuals in nation building.

Along with this some special celebrations as per the programme will be organised at various places of the Country as - a) The organization of Shobha Yatras (processions) in almost every town and village of the country on 12th January 2013, i.e., Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. b) The
ambitious activity of Samuhik Surya Namaskar by youth from Schools and Colleges will also be a part of the celebrations on 18th February 2013. c) The Bharat Jago Daud with participation of a large number of youths will also be organized by the Samiti on 11th September 2013, the Vishwa Bandhutva Divas (Chicago Address Day).
