Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Uttar Prant, Delhi Branch, successfully organized the Young India Dialogue, centered around the compelling theme “Swami Vivekananda and the Future of Indian Education,” on 6th April 2025 at the Vivekananda International Foundation, Chanakyapuri, Delhi. Inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s vision of holistic, value-based, and character-building education, the dialogue provided a vibrant platform for young minds to reflect on, express, and critically engage with the pressing issues and possibilities shaping India’s educational future.

Sub-Themes:

The event was anchored around four key sub-themes:

  1. Swami Vivekananda on Women's Education
  2. Swami Vivekananda’s Vision in NEP 2020
  3. Synthesis of Science and Spirituality in Swami Vivekananda’s Education
  4. Vocational Training and Skill Development in Swami Vivekananda’s Idea of Education

Academic Competitions:

Two major competitions were held as part of the event:

  1. Declamation Competition:
    A total of 49 students from diverse academic backgrounds enthusiastically participated in this high-energy segment. The speakers eloquently presented their thoughts on Swami Vivekananda’s educational ideals and their relevance today. The competition provided a powerful platform for youth to voice their aspirations and concerns regarding India's education system.
  2. Paper Presentation Session:
    A call for abstracts received an overwhelming response, with 45 abstracts submitted from across the country. Following a rigorous review process, 26 papers were selected for presentation during the event. The presentations showcased deep engagement with the sub-themes and reflected a blend of academic rigor, critical thought, and visionary ideas.

Participation and Outreach:

The event achieved wide academic outreach, engaging approximately 35 institutions across India. Papers and participants were drawn from several states, including:

  • Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam, Rajasthan, Haryana, Kerala.

This diverse participation underscored the pan-Indian relevance and appeal of the dialogue's theme and the growing enthusiasm among youth to contribute meaningfully to the national discourse on education.
