Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Madurai Branch, organised 11th International Day of Yoga programme at TVS Higher Secondary School on 21st June 2025 at 3.30pm.
The event witnessed the participation of 46 people, including 36 school students, and 10 Karyakartas. The session aimed to raise awareness about yoga’s role in fostering a balanced and disciplined lifestyle, especially among students.
The program commenced with the assembly of participants, followed by a prayer led by Shri Suresh. The school management extended a warm welcome, expressing appreciation for Vivekananda Kendra’s consistent efforts in spreading the message of yoga.
Shri Senthil Anna addressed the gathering and elaborated on the objective of the program, explaining how yoga extends beyond physical exercise to cultivate inner strength, clarity of mind, and emotional stability.
The main yoga session followed, guided by Shri Balasurya, with demonstrations by Shri Kuppuraja and Kum. Kowisha. Participants engaged in a sequence of asanas, breathing practices, and relaxation techniques as per the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH.
To bring a lively conclusion to the session, interactive games were conducted, infusing energy and joy among the students. The program concluded with a Sankalpam and Shanti Mantra, once again led by Shri Suresh.
The event successfully reflected the theme of IDY 2025 – “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, aligning with the national mission of integrating yoga into daily life. The coordinated efforts of Karyakartas, along with support from the school’s staff and volunteers, made the program impactful and memorable.
