Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti organized four Free Medical camps in Tirap district from 1st to 4th November 2011. The camps were held at Pongkong, Barap and Lazu Township of Lazu circle and Khela of Khonsa circle. A total 274 patients were examined and free medicines were distributed by the Mobile Medical Unit of VKAJ. Many people of these areas are suffering from various ailments like typhoid, flu, diarrhea and blood dysentery. Two health awareness meeting also arranged ,where all the villagers participated. There the Doctor advised the villagers to keep good hygiene to prevent infectious diseases. Tirap Ingenious Peoples Society(TIPS) volunteers also participated in these camps. It is to be mentioned that these two organizations conducted more than 50 medical camps in Tirap during this summer. The DMO of Tirap also supported this noble effort by providing them some basic medicines.
