Every year Swami Vivekananda Mahasamadhi day falls on 4th July, 2011, which is being observed, as Vivekananda workers day and also Anna Pooja and Cultural Programme are conducted by the Vivekananda Kendra.
Vivekananda Kendra is a spiritually oriented service mission, with Man Making and Nation Building as its twin objectives, aims at transforming our people’s inherent Godliness into right spiritual urge to serve God in man and to channelize the spiritual fervour thus released, to work of national re-construction. We are able to carry out these noble service activities, with kind support and prayers of philanthropists like you.

Rice collected by the Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development workers from Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts will be heaped (Nearly 12 Tons) in the centre and the idol of Annapoorna Devi will be kept over the rice - heap. Then, Annapoorna Sthothram sung by Adisankarar and the Eleventh chapter of the Bhagavath Geetha will be chanted by all.
