Vivekananda Kendra, Shimla Branch celebrated Universal Brotherhood day in its premises on 11th Sep 2011. In this connection, a declamation contest “Utho! Jaago!!” was organised by VK, Shimla for the school students of Shimla with support from Bhasha Sanskriti Vibhag, Shimla District. The competition was conducted in S.D.S.S.School, Ganj Bazar on 10th Sep 2011. 32 students from different schools participated. The highlight of this year’s “Utho! Jaago!! Bhashan Pratiyogita” is the institution of running trophies (sponsored by M/s Rajendra Jewellers, Lower Bazar, Shimla) for the winning schools. The prizes were distributed on 11th Sep during the U.B. day celebration. About 100 participated in the celebration. Sri V.K.Verma, AGM, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd was the chief guest.
