Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Programme, Ramanathapuram branch organized a 1008 Thiruvilakku Puja (Deepa Puja) at Arulmigu Mangaleswari Udanurai Mangalanatha Swamy Temple, Thiru Uthirakosamangai, Ramanathapuram.

This mass deepa puja, which was held on 13-08-2023, saw the participation of 1013 people hailing from more than 50 villages. The aim of the Puja is to invoke blessings for the prosperity of the nation and the enduring well-being of humanity.

Su. Imayam Saraswati Akka and Su. Ponrathi Akka graced the occasion as the Chief Guests. Sister Ponrathi, Rajam Motors Su. Kanakeswari Nallamuthu, Su. Thenmozhi Balakrishnan, Paramakkudi College Professor Sri. Arivalagan, and Su. Nalayini lit the main lamp called ‘Thaai Vilakku’.

Su. Imayam Saraswati Akka delivered the Asirvachan and offered blessings. Then, Sri. Ayyappan Ji, The Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Programme gave a special address.

The event also provided a platform for Kendra Sisters to engage with attendees on the topic ‘Wake up Hindus’. Following that, Kendra sisters Su. Bagyalakshmi, Su. Radha, Su. Vazhalakshmi and Su. Vimala led and conducted the puja.

Imayam Saraswati Akka and Ponrathi Akka presented mementos to the guests, and the program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Kendra karyakartha Su. Vijayarani.

The grand success of this Mass Deepa Puja sparked a sense of unity, reverence, and a collective aspiration for both the nation's prosperity and the overall well-being of humanity.
