Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar Branch organized a one-day workshop and prize distribution ceremony for the participants of the Swadhyaya Competition at Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women on 19th April 2025.
The program commenced with a prayer, followed by Deepa Prajwalan (lighting of the ceremonial lamp) by the college Principal, NSS Coordinator, and Kendra Karyakartas. An invocation dance was performed by the RT Nagar Karyakartas. A college student shared and explained a quote by Swami Vivekananda, and the students extended a warm welcome to all the Vivekananda Kendra Karyakartas.
A patriotic song was rendered by a student. Ms. Thara Bai Didi gave a brief introduction about Vivekananda Kendra and its various seva activities. Sri Bharath Ji then conducted sessions on life skills, goal setting, and self-awareness, interspersed with interactive games. Group discussions and presentations were held on the topic “Women's Role in Nation Building.”
A yoga session was led by Sri Chethan Ji, Yuva Pramukh, with demonstrations by Kum. Dhrutha and Kum. Naveena. All students participated enthusiastically and showed great interest throughout the workshop.
Students shared their feedback, and prizes were distributed to the winners of the Swadhyaya Competition. The geet "Maatrubhumi Gana Se" was led by Sri Bharath Ji and joined by students and Karyakartas. The program concluded with the Shanti Mantra.
The college Principal expressed his appreciation for the event and conveyed interest in hosting more Kendra activities in the future. Inspired by the workshop, two students visited the Kendra Branch Center and volunteered to assist with Samskara Varga. The college has also invited the Kendra to conduct a session during their upcoming NSS Camp.
A total of 60 participants attended the workshop, including 47 students, 11 Karyakartas, a college professor, and the Principal.
