International Day of Yoga is celebrated with enthusiasm by all the branch centers of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari across Bharat. Through these celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra aims to bring Yoga to the general public in its true essence, i.e., Yoga as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.
This year, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant organized International Day of Yoga programs at 96 places in West Bengal, with a total participation of 6,188 people. For organizing these programs, 339 Kendra Karyakarthas were involved. The details of programs Nagar-wise/Karyasthan-wise are given below:
- Suckhar Khardha: 8 programmes, 1651 participants (24 Karyakarthas involved)
- Dakshineswar Nagar: 17 programmes, 1016 participants (63 Karyakarthas involved)
- Vivekananda Nagar Karyasthan: 15 programmes, 467 participants (43 Karyakarthas involved)
- Bidhan Nagar: 10 programmes, 450 participants (25 Karyakarthas involved)
- Hooghly Sadar Karyasthan: 5 programmes, 372 participants (37 Karyakarthas involved)
- Durgapur Nagar: 7 programmes, 360 participants (13 Karyakarthas involved)
- Haripal - Antpur Karyasthan: 5 programmes, 330 participants (17 Karyakarthas involved)
- Kamarpukur: 2 programmes, 241 participants (5 Karyakarthas involved)
- Cooch Behar: 1 programme, 220 participants (2 Karyakarthas involved)
- Madhusudan Nagar Karyasthan: 6 programmes, 201 participants (34 Karyakarthas involved)
- Chaknan Narghat, Purba Medinipur: 1 programme, 195 participants (2 Karyakarthas involved)
- Netaji Nagar Karyasthan: 9 programmes, 328 participants (13 Karyakarthas involved)
- Behala: 3 programmes, 129 participants (7 Karyakarthas involved)

- Jhargram: 1 programme, 61 participants (1 Karyakarta involved)
- Gobor Danga Karyasthan: 2 programmes, 28 participants (4 Karyakarthas involved)

- Balagarh Karyasthan: 1 programme, 24 participants (3 Karyakarthas involved)
The programs were conducted in Kendra karyalayas, various institutions and public places, engaging people from all walks of life. All participants actively joined in, practicing Yogasanas and Pranayama as per the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH.
These celebrations not only promoted holistic well-being but also deepened cultural and spiritual awareness, firmly rooted in the timeless wisdom of the Yogic tradition.
