International Day of Yoga is celebrated with enthusiasm by all the branch centers of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari across Bharat. Through these celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra aims to bring Yoga to the general public in its true essence, i.e., Yoga as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.
This year, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Odisha Prant organized International Day of Yoga programs at 73 places across the state, engaging a total of 5,280 participants. A total of 214 Kendra Karyakartas contributed to the successful organization of these events. The branch-wise and Karyasthan-wise details are as follows:
- Gunupur: 7 places, 334 participants
- Baripada: 5 places, 257 participants
- Brahmapur: 3 places, 1580 participants
- Rourkela: 3 places, 150 participants
- Bhubaneshwar: 10 places, 207 participants
- Keonjhar: 5 places, 290 participants
- Sambalpur: 2 places, 150 participants
- Jeypore: 4 places, 108 participants
- Amlipani: 2 places, 105 participants
- Balasore: 21 places, 1848 participants
- Banapur: 10 places, 250 participants
The programs were conducted in various institutions and public spaces, drawing enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups. Each session included the practice of Yogasanas and Pranayama as per the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH.
Odisha’s celebrations were marked by sincere effort, wide outreach, and the spirit of collective participation, contributing to the growing awareness and practice of Yoga across the region.
