Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.
Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School, Vallioor (Tamil Nadu Prant) celebrated International Day of Yoga 2025 on 21st June 2025 at the school premises. The programme commenced at 10:30 a.m. with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri. Poovendiran ji, RSS Organizer of the Six District Environment Unit, and the Special Guest, Shri. S. Sudhir Kandhan ji, Former President of Rotary Club, Vallioor Central. A warm welcome address was delivered by teacher Smt. Usha.
A total of 450 students participated in the celebration, which featured vibrant demonstrations of Bharatanatyam, Karate, and the traditional martial art Silambam. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of Yoga as a holistic practice for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. A mass yoga demonstration was conducted, actively involving all students and emphasizing Yoga as a disciplined way of life.
The Principal, Smt. S. Esakkiammal @ Devi, and the Special Guest jointly presented a memento to the Chief Guest. A group of students also participated in the International Day of Yoga celebrations held at VOC Ground, Tirunelveli, at 6:00 a.m., organized by the Indian Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department and My Bharat, Tirunelveli District. The Principal and Chief Guest distributed participation certificates to those students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by teacher Miss Nisha, followed by the Kendra Prarthana, marking a meaningful and grand celebration of the International Day of Yoga.
