Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is revered as the Guru, and Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers and projects of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.
On the auspicious occasion of Gurupurnima, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal branch, inaugurated a new Anandalaya on Aashada Purnima (10th July 2025) from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at Government School, Coffee Board Layout, Hebbal Kempapura, Bengaluru. Ten children from nearby Government schools attended the inaugural session.
The Anandalaya aims to provide academic support and value-based engagement for students of Classes 7 and 8. Karyakartas from the Hebbal branch will assist the children with their homework and studies, helping to instill discipline, focus, and cultural values. The initiative is planned to be conducted on a regular weekly basis.
The launch of the Anandalaya on Gurupurnima marks a meaningful step in Vivekananda Kendra’s commitment to nurturing young minds and fulfilling Swami Vivekananda’s vision of man-making and nation-building.
