On Ashadha Purnima (10th July 2025), Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar branch, conducted the Gurupurnima Utsav at Ashraya English School, Vishwanath Naganahalli Main Road. The event was attended by 68 students, 3 school teachers, and 1 Karyakarta, making a total of 72 participants.
The school, run by Ashraya Social Welfare & Rehabilitation Centre, serves underprivileged students. The initiative to celebrate Gurupurnima and start a Samskara Varga at the school was proposed by Shri Ranjit Anna, a devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and a member of the school management.
Shri Bharath Ji, a Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra, addressed the gathering and explained the significance of Gurupurnima and the role of the Guru in one’s life. He also taught the students the chanting of the Guru Stavan, which was received with enthusiasm.
The celebration continued with bhajans and Arati performed by the students and teachers. As a mark of reverence, the children sought blessings from their teachers, making the occasion meaningful and spiritually enriching for all present.
