INSPIRING INCIDENTS

Nisha Nandini, Idaichivillai, Thoothukudi district

In our Balwadi, during one of our classes, we were writing and suddenly one of the child’s lead of the pencil broke. Immediately, I asked for a blade to sharpen it. Unfortunately, while sharpening I cut my finger and blood was oozing out. One child of our class, immediately, went into the kitchen and came out with Coffee powder and asked me to press the cut with the powder to stop the blood flow. This incident and the presence of mind of the child, was really astonishing to all of us.

N. Chandra, Ambasamudram, Tirunelveli district

On August 24, we conducted cultural competitions at Keezhpaavoor. One of the teachers, who had brought their students for the competitions, came to me and asked, “How come all the workers of the Kendra are able to orate, sing and do all the social works with utmost sincerity and dedication, though we are all quite educated and qualified, excepting a very few, others are not able to even climb up the dais and talk. Similarly, when we come for camps, though you’ll do not know any of us, you welcome us all with utmost affection and with a smile on your face. I am really very much delighted to attend the camps and such competitions being conducted by Vivekananda Kendra. I also sincerely and whole heartedly wish to participate in all your programmes.” These words of the teacher really boosted the morale of my self-esteem and am grateful to be associated with Vivekananda Kendra.
