A grand procession named Vijnana Jagruti Yatra was organized VKVs of Papumpare district as a part of Maha Bhaskara Shastra Vigyana Pradarshini, (Science Exhibition).



Maha Bhaskara Shastra Vijnana Pradarshini (Science Exhibition) is one of the popular competitions, which has been conducting in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas of North East. It is aimed at catering and nurturing the scientific temperament among students and staff. VKV- Itanagar is hoisting the exhibition of this year.


About 2500 students from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas of Itangar, Balijan, Sher, Banderdewa, Vivek Vihar and Nirjuli. Models related various selected themes to create scientific awareness were the main attractions of the procession. There were two different processions started from Govt. H.School , Arunodaya and Mopin Solung Ground to State Science Park ( IG Park). The first one was flagged off by Rev. Swamiji Partha Maharaj, Secretary of RamaKrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar and second was flagged off by Sri. T Welli, Chief Engineer, RWD, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.


Dr. Tejum Padu, Deputy Director of Higher and Technical Educational, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh address the students at culmination point. Dr. Tejum Padu, uphold the role of students in developing scientific awareness in the present world of Globalization which resulted in the ruthless exploitation of natural resources in unprecedented level. He said that educating and mobilizing the public opinion on safe environment is a part of quality education in addition to classroom teaching learning. Students, the future citizens of the country must develop proper scientific attitude and urged to join our hands together to have development without destroying our forest, rivers, mountains and scenic beauty of Arunachal Pradesh.


Su. Radha Devi, joint secretary, VKV AP Trust, also address the gathering. In her speech she said that the initiative of VKVs in Arunachal is a small step in making awareness of the disastrous effect of overexploitation of natural resources.


The main slogan raised in the procession was “JAI JAWAN JAI VIGYAN”.
