NEW DELHI, Nov 9 (Agencies): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today invoked the life and struggle of RSS ideologue Eknath Ranade to urge the youth to make their life meaningful rather than be just successful and cited the example of Bill Gates to bring home the point.

Saluting the contributions of Ranade who lived by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, the Prime Minister hoped that Ranade's ideals of "one life, one mission" will inspire the youths to join in nation-building and fulfil Swamiji's dreams.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a peep into his early days as a swyamsevak on Sunday, saying how he learnt the difference between a successful and a meaningful life. At the birth centenary celebrations of Eknath Ranade, RSS leader who founded the Vivekananda Kendra, Modi said it was from him that he learnt the importance of a "sarthak" (meaningful) life, not merely a "safal" (successful) one. "This is a lesson the youth must imbibe," Modi said.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today described the Late Shri Eknath Ranade as a person who inspired us to make life not just successful (Safal), but also meaningul (Saarthak). He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 'Mananeeya Eknath Ranade Janm Shati Parva' in New Delhi today.

Shri Narendra Modi said Shri Eknath Ranade should inspire us to create an India that is both bhavya (prosperous) and divya (spiritual). He said India's poor seek prosperity, and the world seeks spirituality from India.
