On the eve of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti the Vivekananda Kendra Vidhyalaya, Tezpur tried to make its children cognizant of the contentment one can achieve by giving and urged them to give the things they don’t use anymore and yet in good condition, viz. clothes, sweaters, shoes, toys, tiffin/pencil boxes etc. The students showed sheer enthusiasm and we collected a reasonable quantity of donatives in two days. We intended to distribute the collection among some of the disadvantaged children of Baahbari Village on 5 th October, 2016.

A martial arts student went to his teacher and said earnestly, “I am devoted to studying your martial system. How long will it take me to master it?”

The teacher’s reply was casual, “Ten years.” Impatiently, the student answered, “But I want to master it faster than that. I will work very hard. I will practice every day, ten or more hours a day if I have to. How long will it take then?”

The teacher thought for a moment, “20 years”.
